What is Personal Touch?
Personal Touch turns your handwriting into an OpenType font. Write the prompts, then export — you get an .otf, a .woff2, and a PDF proof.
How many prompts do I need?
The full schedule is 220 prompts. More samples mean better character variants and ligatures. You can export at any time; quality improves with each round.
What are variants?
Your handwriting never repeats a letter exactly. Personal Touch clusters your samples into multiple variants per character, so typed text looks natural rather than mechanical.
What are ligatures?
Ligatures capture how adjacent letters flow into each other. Common pairs get their own combined glyph, giving the font a script-like feel.
Why disable Scribble?
On iPad, Scribble intercepts short Apple Pencil strokes (like the dot on an 'i' or the crossbar on a 't') before they reach the app. Disable it under Settings → Apple Pencil → Scribble.
What files do I get?
Three files: OTF (desktop and most apps), WOFF2 (web fonts), and a PDF proof showing all your glyphs, ligatures, and kerning pairs.
Can I export more than once?
Yes. Each export builds a fresh font from everything you've written so far. Write more prompts and export again to get an improved font.
